The Governing Body
Burghclere’s governing body is made up of a team of volunteers including staff, parents and members of the local community. This diversity helps to ensure that the school benefits from a wide range of skills, interests and experiences.
What do Governors do?
The main role of Governors is:
- To ensure that the school has a clear vision, ethos and strategic direction.
- To hold the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils.
- To oversee the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
- To safeguard and promote the welfare of children who are pupils at the school.
The governing body meet regularly throughout the school year. In addition, we have a delegated committee who meet each term to focus and report back to the governing body on:
- Finance and Business
